The typographic poster I chose to examine was a Clockwork Orange poster.The poster I found was on a article titled “53 Mind-Blowing uses of Typograpy” The post includes many examples, however I chose to write about this one.

· Balance- The balance in this picture is symmetrical. The weight of the text is equivalent to the weight of the face when looking at the entire picture. The balance is symmetrical because there is an even distribution of information on the horizontal axisthat is slightly slanted.
· Rhythm-The rhythm within this picture is a flowing rhythm. The text creates a north-eastern rhythm that flows from the “Clockwork Orange” to the direction of the mans eye. When looking at the picture as a whole, the eye is drawn in the direction that English is meant to be read, from left to right. Leaving the text at a slant, and reading it from left to right, the eye follows a rhythm that connects to the direction the face is pointing. 
· Proportion- The proportion in this picture is seen in text. The text of the “Orange” is the largest, being the first thing you would see. However “Clockwork” is the second largest text, showing you the full movie title. In proportion to the large text, the smaller text shows less important information, the “I love lubbilubbing with devotchkas.” is slightly larger than the text below it, “Anthony burgess, Stanley Kubrick, Malcolm McDowell.” The proportion that draws the eye from the background is even within the tittle and the face.
· Dominance- The eye is first drawn to the dominance of the eye. The shape that the eye creates is dominant over others because of its shape. The picture is mostly comprised of round text outlines and round curves, however the eye on the man’s face presents a sharp image. The dominant element is “Orange” by size, and leads to the face, that eventually draws the eye to the background.
· Unity- There is a unity within the picture that flows nicely. The colors unite the eye perfectly. The white-envelope color is repeated both in the text and in the man. Within the text the white color is seen, however it connects the text to the man by repeatinginhis jacket. The center of the eye also repeats this color.

This is the first step towards designing a food product box. The basic outline of the box and how it may or may not look. The fonts and sizes/positioning are subject to change throughout creation process.
Graphics Project Proposal.
I am trying to achieve a graphic design project that is a box design of a made up snack food. This snack food is to be both tasty, stylish, and healthy. The food, Dawg Food- For Digity Dawgs, will be represented in a cardboard box with 5 different sides.
I want the design to be-
- appealing to the consumer
- realistic food-like product box
- colorful
- humorous- this is a fake food so humor may work to my advantage
What the design needs to be-
- Properly proportioned with correct dimensions
- Professional food labeling in correction with the FDA, IBM, STD, NCAA Laws
- Production plan, both thoroughly cost efficient and profitable to “DiscoFunkyDawgFoodInc.”
- possible to print and realistic
